SST Alamo's Science Olympiad team advances to the Texas State Science Olympiad Competition at Texas A&M University

The Science Olympiad, TSO, tournament "is a rigorous academic interscholastic competition that consists of a series of individual and team events which students (grades 6-12) prepare for during the year." The tournament exercises science and engineering, disciplines of biology, geology, chemistry, physics, computer science, and technology. Students strengthen and test their knowledge of facts, concepts, processes, skills, and science applications.

SST Alamo's Science Olympiad team trained for months leading up to the tournament and received 12 medals at the TAMU- San Antonio Regional Science Olympiad! Our students proudly represented San Antonio, as they were the only local school to compete in the regional event.

Coaches, Mrs. Christina Conner and Mr. Ismail Uzun, could not be more proud. This is the first Science Olympiad competition that the school has participated in since the Covid-19 shut-down in 2020. To win place 12 places in 6 events is truly impressive. The team has since advanced to the state level and will be competing in the State Science Olympiad tournament at Texas A&M University, College Station this April.

Good luck, Eagles!
